Breakdown & Replacement Car Policy
Nobody plans for a breakdown — but knowing exactly what happens if your rental stops working matters more than any discount. Here’s our commitment, step by step.
If Your Rental Breaks Down
- Call us immediately, any hour. Our line is monitored 24/7. Pull over safely, switch on hazard lights, and place the warning triangle behind the car if you’re on a highway shoulder.
- We arrange roadside assistance. For minor issues (battery, tyre, lockout) a technician comes to you. Typical response inside Dubai is under 60 minutes.
- If the car can’t be fixed on the spot, we recover it — towing is on us for mechanical faults. You never pay recovery costs for a fault that isn’t your doing.
- You get a replacement car. For rentals of 3+ days, we deliver a replacement of the same or similar category to your location so your plans continue.
What’s Covered vs. What’s Not
| Situation | Cost to You |
|---|---|
| Mechanical/electrical fault (engine, gearbox, AC failure) | Nothing — repair, recovery, and replacement on us |
| Flat battery from lights left on | Call-out may be charged — we’ll tell you before dispatch |
| Puncture / tyre damage | Tyres are a renter responsibility under standard UAE rental terms |
| Wrong fuel | Drain and repair charged at cost |
| Accident damage | Handled under insurance — police report required |
Accidents: The 3 Rules
1) Never leave the scene. 2) Call Dubai Police (999 for injuries, 901 for minor) — in Dubai you can also file minor accident reports via the Dubai Police app. A police report is mandatory for any insurance claim in the UAE. 3) Call us right after — we guide you through the process and arrange the replacement.
Why This Matters When Choosing a Rental Company
Cheap operators often have no replacement fleet — a breakdown means your rental simply ends, mid-trip, with a refund argument. Ask any company these questions before booking: Do you tow at your cost for mechanical faults? Do you deliver a replacement, and how fast? Is roadside assistance 24/7? We answer yes to all three.
